MATTAWAMKEAG – Roger D. Hamm, 79, loving husband, father and grandfather, went to be with Jesus his Savior, Jan. 8, 2012. He was born Oct. 18, 1932, in Lee, to Hazel (Ware) and Charles Hamm.
Roger worked at Great Northern Paper Co., East Millinocket, for 17 years before he became self-employed. He will be remembered by all for his kind, generous, loving personality. Micah 6:8 describes Roger’s walk: “He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.” He wanted everyone to know they could have a personal relationship with Jesus.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marie; three daughters, Roanne Philbrook and her husband, Bud, Kathy Frodahl and her husband, Michael, and Carole Hamm and her husband, Dave Hopla; two sons, Timothy Hamm and his wife, Teresa, and David Hamm and his fiancee, Kathy; nine grandchildren, Joel Philbrook and his wife, Jessica, Meredith Philbrook, Andrew Frodahl and his wife, Ashley, Jonathan Frodahl and his fiancee, Amber, Erik Frodahl and his wife, Melissa, Taran Nelson and her husband, Kyle, Clinton Hamm and his wife, Liz, Lexi Hamm and McKenna Hopla; and seven great-grandchildren, Jack Philbrook, Brooklyn Philbrook, Issac Frodahl, Ethan Frodahl, Axel Roger Frodahl, Moses Hamm and Beckett Nelson. His grandchildren will always remember him and the impact he made on their lives and all his “grampisms.”
Friends may call 2-3 p.m. Wednesday at Mattawamkeag Church of God where a service celebrating his life will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, with the Rev. Mark W. York, the Rev.
