He was predeceased by his daughter, Cindy; and son, Rodney Sr. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie (Muncey); children, Jack and Ruth McEwen of Linneus, Carlene and Greg McNally of Oakfield, Lisa and Paul Rouse of Haynesville, Carrie and Jim Palmer of Linneus, Bruce and Laura McEwen of Danforth, Corinna McEwen of Houlton, Wendy and Brad Frye of Brookton; grandchildren, Rodney, Brandi, Alan, Matt, Brian, Samantha, Allison, Tianna, Jamie, Brady, Tyler and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Robbie, Aidan and Ian; brothers, Jeff, Stanley and Larry; and sisters, Violet, Barbara, Judy and Jeannette. He served in the U.S. Army for three years. He was a self-employed business owner for many years. He was a selectman of Danforth for many years and a member of Danforth Calvary Gospel Assembly. His greatest joy was spending time at Hot Brook Lake with his family. Family was very important to him and he spent a lot of time with his children and grandchildren. Fishing in Eastport or Hot Brook Lake, he was bound to reel in his fair share. He loved to show all of his children and grandchildren how to fill a pail full of white perch. He even loved them enough to share his special secret fishing holes. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and fishing on Hot Brook will never be the same.

Visiting hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Gospel Assembly, Pentecostal Church, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Robert Root officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in his memory to Calvary Gospel Assembly. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth.
