BREWER – George A. Watson Jr., 77, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at a Brewer health care facility. He was born April 24, 1934, in Veazie, son of George and Marion (Hewes) Watson.

George enjoyed working with students as a custodian at Hermon High School for more than 25 years. He loved fishing, bowling, and times spent at camp with family and friends.

George is survived by his sons, George A. Watson III of Brewer, and Brent A. Watson and his wife, Linda, of Reading, Pa.; grandchildren, Ryan of Reading, Pa., Colleen of Orland, Ben of Brewer and Jaime of Winn; brother, Robert of Orono; and sisters, Marie and Josse, both of Veazie. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kay Lynn.

A graveside service will be announced in the spring at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport. Those wishing to remember George may make gifts in support of his family to George A. Watson III, 201 Easter Ave., Brewer, ME 04412. A service of Memorial Alternatives, 205 Center St., Bangor.

  1. I love George! I was at HHS from 1982-1986 and he always put a smile on my face. A big time teaser! However, he could take it too! Loved him! So sorry to hear of your loss. 

  2. I hope you knew how many lives you touched throughout your career at HHS.  So sad that you can’t continue on making other students laugh the way you did.  You will be missed by many.
