RANCHO CORDOVO, Calif. – Norman Gerald Ludwigson passed away Jan. 4, 2012. He was born May 31, 1932.

His mother called him Norman, his flight crew called him “Eye-dropper Lud” and in retirement his grandson, Nick, dubbed him “Boppie,” which grew to be “The Bop;” everyone else knew him as “Gerry.” If there was a piano in the room, “Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy” would jump from the keys and a rug would be cut. As a kid, his sister, Elaine, used to pay him a nickel to dance with her for practice, not so that Gerry could learn, but he did. He shared his life with brother, Donald; and sisters, Elaine and Harriett. He was an Air Force flight engineer of 20 years with honors and a hero to his wife, Carla Dawn.

He is survived by his sister Elaine; son, Perry; daughters, Lynne and Julie; and four grandchildren, Matt, Derek, Nick and Leslie. Now cleared for takeoff, we salute and say farewell, forever in our hearts.

Price Funeral Chapel directors, Citrus Heights, Calif., are handling the arrangements.
