PITTSFIELD, Maine — Two cars, one heading north and one heading south on Interstate 95 just south of Pittsfield, slid off the highway just before noon Tuesday, a Maine State Police dispatcher in Augusta confirmed.
The accidents were reported around mile marker 145, which is five miles south of the Pittsfield exit.
The state police dispatcher said she heard the snow forecast and was happily surprised to hear that only a couple of cars had gone off the road.
“I expected it to be more,” she said.
No accidents were reported as of late Tuesday morning on I-95 in the Bangor area, where a light snow had been falling for a couple of hours, a state police dispatcher in Orono said at noontime.
“It’s been quiet so far,” she said.

“CRASH” not accident.
The NTSHA stopped using the word ‘accident for ‘crash’ ‘ in 1991. Perhaps the office memos never arrived in Maine
it’s not like accident.
