PATTEN – Barbara (Spellman) Wheaton, 72, died quietly Jan. 15, 2012, in Millinocket, after a long illness. She was born Sept. 18, 1939, in Stafford Springs, Conn., the daughter of Alonzo and Julia (Rogers) Spellman.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lee Wheaton of Patten; two daughters, Teri Lynn Cole of Portland and Lee Ann Wheaton Grassmueck of Williamsport, Pa.; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her close friend and housekeeper, Parichat Peavey.
Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Bowers Funeral Home, Sherman Street, Island Falls. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, Patten, with the Rev. David Dyrenforth officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately afterward.
