VEAZIE – Harvey E. “Bakey” Gosselin Jr., 71, husband of Annette (Sirois) Gosselin, died Jan. 17, 2012, at his home with his family at his side. He was born Aug. 11, 1940, in Hampden, son of Harvey E. and Dorothy (Briggs) Gosselin Sr.
Harvey, affectionately known as “Bakey” by his grandchildren, attended St. John’s Catholic School and graduated from John Bapst High School in 1960. He was the owner and operator of Gosselin’s Bakery, Bangor, for more than 53 years. One of his proudest accomplishments besides his family and the bakery business was his time as a private pilot flying his Cessna. Harvey was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, motorcycling and car racing.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 51 years of Veazie and his mother of Brewer, are three children, Yvette Stewart and her husband, Bruce, and their son, Tyler Stewart, Harvey E. Gosselin III and his children, Ian and Caitlin Gosselin, and Gary Gosselin and his daughter, Anna Marie Gosselin; one brother, Edmond Gosselin and his wife, Marguerite; two sisters, Deborah Buswell and her husband, Rodney, and Terri Tweedie and her husband, Alan; brother-in-law, Charles Milan; sister-in-law, Lorraine Gosselin; special sister-in-law, Yvette Sullivan; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father; brother, Dewey B. Gosselin; sister, Marie G. Milan; and special brothers-in-law, Timothy Sullivan and John Roy. He will be dearly missed by his special canine friends, Duchess and Dora.
