FRECHVILLE and EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – Mr. Levite Joseph Soucy, formerly of Frenchville, died Jan. 20, 2012, at the age of 89. He was born Oct. 17, 1922, in Lac Baker, New Brunswick, to Joseph L. and Methaide Soucy.
Mr. Levite Soucy was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Annette Marie Soucy; two sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his children, Gerard, Rinette, Daniel, Jean-Marc, Guildo and Michael; his sisters, Rita, Viola and Lorraine; his brothers, Norman and Roland; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
His final days were spent in the company of family and friends. He died very peacefully and in a state of grace at Villa Des Jardins nursing home, Edmundston, New Brunswick, in the presence of his son, Danny and daughter, Rinette. Mr. Soucy was a devout Catholic who loved nature and the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and being surrounded by his family, in whom he found great joy.
Mr. Levite Soucy’s Catholic funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at St. Luce Parish, Upper Frenchville. He will be buried next to his wife, Annette, at St. Luce Parish Cemetery. Funeral wakes will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, and 8 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Michaud Funeral Home, Frenchville.
