SEBAGO, Maine — Authorities in Cumberland County are hunting for a man who allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted a woman early Saturday.
The woman, 41, told police her car was stuck in the ice when a passing motorist offered to help. When the woman got out of her vehicle, the man violently attacked and sexually assaulted her, according to a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Following the assault, the man stole money from the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene, leaving her injured on the side of the road, the release said.
The sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the attacker. The man was driving a gray or dark GMC full-size pickup truck with a “Ski-Doo” sticker on the right rear lower corner of the back window, and the truck has New Hampshire plates.
The man is described as 6 feet tall and weighing about 170 pounds. At the time of the attack he was wearing a dark hooded jacket, a “beanie” style hat and gold framed glasses.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 774-1444, ext. 2208.
I guess the thing to do is lock yourself in the car and don’t accept help from any stranger saying they will help you. I always carry my tracfone so I can call for help in case of emergency.
In most cases these people were already in jail, they just didn’t stay there.

A cell phone only does good if you have service. Which is only about a quarter of the state. You still have all the time it takes for someone to reach your position even if you have cell service. This is why you should carry mace, a gun, a flare gun a batton etc. Anything that can protect your person. This is horrible. I hope they catch this person. But that is probably not going to happen until he messes up and someone puts something in him to stop him breathing.
Your cell phone service depends on your carrier. Some carriers cover the whold state except in the deep woods.
I think you need a ccw permit to carry mace,etc. He’d be free, you in jail. Sucks. Hope you get justice soon lady.
There are no restrictions on carrying mace in Maine…not sure about where they’re from (I know they’ve mentioned living in another country…)

Call 911 after the perp STOPS breathing. You don’t want him or her filing charges against you!

….so many say she should have done this and done that but I can assure you when your in the middle of, or a victim of such an attack your brain goes on survival mode not tip toe through the tulips mode. If you can’t dial 911 grab for DNA!

It is really sadthat this woman thought she was going to get help from a fellow american and in stead she got raped and robed,he should be punished as far as it can go.really dont need his on the road.
