LIMESTONE and MAPLETON – Eslie H. Gallagher, 76, passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, with his family by his side. Eslie was born Feb. 12, 1935, in Limestone, son of the late Wendell R. and Madeline P. (Barnes) Gallagher.

Eslie graduated from Limestone High School in 1954 and attended Bentley School of Accounting, Boston, now known as Bentley College. Eslie worked for A.E. Fewellings & Sons, Agway, Arius/Electrolux and owned and operated Gallagher’s Color and Garden Center. He was very active in Limestone Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years and was a Shriner for many years.

Eslie is survived by his wife of more than 55 years, Priscilla E. (Woodbury) Gallagher; and their four children, Dave and his wife, Nancy O’Bar Gallagher, of Georgia, Ken of Ohio, Linda and her husband, Juan Garcia, of Georgia, and Nancy Gallagher of Presque Isle. He is also survived by his brother, Ron and his wife, Barbara Gallagher, of Limestone; and sister-in-law, Lucille Gallagher of Caribou. In addition, he leaves behind five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Eslie was predeceased by his brother, Daniel W. Gallagher.

Friends and family may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, with a Masonic service beginning 7:30 p.m. There will be visitation also 11 a.m.-noon Saturday, Jan. 28, at United Methodist Church, Mapleton, where a funeral service will begin immediately after with the Rev. Dorothy Matson officiating. In lieu of flowers, Eslie asked that donations and offerings be made to United Methodist Church, Mapleton and/or American Heart Association.
