MARS HILL – John Coffin, 68, was baptized Dec. 21, 2011, and entered into eternal rest peacefully Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, after a battle with diabetes. He is now with his Lord and Savior. John Henry Coffin was born Oct. 13, 1943.
John is a U.S. Navy veteran, who served from 1961 to 1964. John also had a career as a truck driver for more than 40 years before retiring, and was a proud member of North Country Cruisers.
John is survived by his wife of 35 years, Madeline Coffin; his brother, Ronald Coffin; daughters, Robin Randall and husband, Tim, Julie Tweedie and husband, Joe, Lt. Virginia Gowin and Maj. Tracy Coffin; his sons, David Littlefield and wife, Michele, Robert Littlefield and Christopher Coffin and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Bradley Dow, Olivia Randall, Matthew Tweedie, Specialist Thomas Tweedie, Andrew Tweedie, U.S. Navy Mineman Nathan Sanders, Jonathan Lewis, Macey Coffin, Maddison Coffin and John Patrick Coffin;
two great-grandchildren, Dillyn and Piper; a special little princess, Cassidy Carlisle; his best friend, Wayne Pendexter; and numerous other friends.
John’s memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mars Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Presque Isle Dialysis Center. Arrangements in care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Condolences may be expressed at
