PASSADUMKEAG – Leonard Clayton Smith, 76, died peacefully Jan. 23, 2012, at his residence. He was born May 18, 1935, in Old Town, a son of Carleton and Lucy (Hutchinson) Smith.
He was a graduate of Old Town High School and then served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. He retired from Bennett Manufacturing Co. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by the love of his life, Caroline; their three children, Janene, Jennifer and Jamie; five grandchildren, three sisters, several nieces and nephews.
At his request, funeral services will be private.
