BANGOR – Celia Goos Viner, 89, died Jan. 20, 2012, at her home. She was born April 2, 1922, in Bangor, daughter of Solomon and Dora Goos.
Celia was educated in Bangor schools and graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics. After college she moved to Boston to work as a nutritionist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1947 she returned to Bangor to marry Leo Viner, who predeceased her in 1974.
Celia is survived by her beloved family: daughter, Deborah Viner; son, Rabbi Baruch “Richard” Viner and his wife, Shana; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 23, at the Jewish Funeral Chapel, Bangor. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
