LEBANON, Maine — Police say a woman has died in Maine after a power generator leaked carbon monoxide in her home.

The York County Sheriff’s Department says the Lebanon Rescue Department was called Friday afternoon to a home on Little River Road, but attempts to revive the woman were unsuccessful. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity has not been released.

Authorities told WMTW-TV that a power generator was running inside the home at the time, and that testing revealed high levels of carbon monoxide.

  1. Seriously? High Levels of Carbon Monoxide after gas generator is being run inside?  Wow, who woulda thunk.. RIP “Lebanon Woman” I guess it would be a painless way to die unlike some other tragic deaths. but still. a tragedy

  2. there are a lot of genny’s in Maine that are installed inside and vented to outside just like a furnace, unfortunately they don’t get it checked as often as a furnace, and bad things happen when any type of appliance that burns fuel inside is neglected..
