MARSHFIELD – Lillian Mabel Gray, 85, died Jan. 29, 2012, at a Machias health care facility. She was born April 30, 1926, daughter of the late Maynard and Marcia (Davis) Gay.
She grew up in the Machias area working for many years in the textile mill, and later as a meat packer for then Shop N’ Save grocery store. She was always a hard worker, and in her free time she enjoyed gardening, yard sales and taking care of children.
She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her family: three children, Mary Mallory and husband, Gene, Annette Wilcox and husband, Galen, and Perley Gray and wife, Kathy; many special grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Everett Gray; grandson, Everett Demmons; and sister, Virginia.
Graveside services at Guptill Cemetery will be announced in the spring by McClure Family Funeral Services, Machias and Lubec. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make donations in her memory may do so to Marshall Healthcare Activity Fund, 9 Beal St., Machias, ME 04654.
