BANGOR – Marie-Rose Colburn, 83, passed away Jan. 29, 2012, lovingly surrounded by her family at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. She was born March 31, 1928, in Allenstown, N.H., to George and Lillie Mary (Baril) Lavertue, and had five brothers and two sisters. Marie was a longtime resident of New Ipswich, N.H., and had relocated to Bangor in 2010. She worked at Tricnit Hosiery Mill, Red Brick Inn and retired from New England Business. She also owned her own snack bar known as Ma’s Place. During her retirement years she enjoyed doing home health care. She was an avid camper, where she often entertained family and enjoyed cooking, doing word search puzzles, and crocheting. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Parish, Greenville, N.H. She treasured her family and her collection of family photos. Marie was predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Stanley Colburn. Together they raised six children.She is survived by her son, Clifton Pelissier and his wife, Debbie, of Jaffrey, N.H.; daughter, Theresa Fogg and her husband, George “Red,” of Rindge, N.H.; son, George Pelissier and his wife, Bonnie, of Bangor; son, Edward Pelissier and his wife, Candi, of Merrimack, N.H.; daughter, Brenda Gedenberg and her husband, James, of Williamsburg, Va.; and son, Eugene Colburn and his wife, Denise, of Vancouver, Wash. She was also blessed with 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family extends their gratitude to all the nurses and doctors whom so lovingly cared for Marie. A special heartfelt, thank you goes to her nurses, Melissa and Suzanne, and the palliative care team at Eastern Maine Medical Center; Carolyn, Marie’s social worker at CancerCare of Maine, who provided much needed support during her cancer treatment; and to Lynn and the volunteer drivers who provided transportation to her appointments regardless of weather or schedule changes.The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Feb. 2 at Sacred Heart Parish, Greenville, N.H. Graveside services will be immediately after at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H.
