BANGOR, Maine — Police arrested a man and a woman late Tuesday afternoon after they stole a bottle of alcohol from Shaw’s on Main Street, Sgt. Paul Edwards said.
Andrew Hanson, 19, and Alicia Perkins, 23, both of Bangor, were arrested at Hanson’s First Street apartment after they fled the store with a bottle of Sambuca when confronted by security, according to police.
Two officers followed fresh footprints in the snow from the scene to the apartment building.
When the officers arrived at the apartment they saw a suspect fitting Perkins’ description. As they searched for Hanson they discovered a large pile of dirty laundry on a bathroom floor, Edwards said, and as the officers looked closer they saw what appeared to be a human leg wearing jeans sticking out of the pile. Hanson was pulled out of the pile, arrested and charged with theft.
Perkins was also arrested because she allegedly aided in the theft, Edwards said. The bottle had a value of $23.24.
Both suspects were taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where they remained Wednesday.

My rebel nature must be kicking in because I find this story hilarious!
Me to! I was looking at their pictures and wondering if there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do these people get smart just in time to ask questions? “Can I have my deposit back?”
If they were stealing rubbers I would have let them go for the sake and survival of humanity.
Do you know how much laundry it would take for a person to hide in it?
Well, unless they were suspected of being felons and/or Perkins allowed them into the apartment, and she had the authority to permit them in the apartment, to search without a warrant, all the evidence they recovered from the apartment would be suppressed. For the cops’ sake, they should hope they have other evidence, because this doesn’t smell right to me. I hope they get a lawyer to argue for them. This kind of fast-and-loose playing with the Constitution, even for generally non-jailable offenses, goes unabated until somebody tells the cops to cut it out and do things properly.
Just so you know other things that law enforcement do without search warrants ! They can tell where you are by tracking your cell phone without a warrant, and they can go to your cell phone provider and look at your records without a warrant !
That is way too illegal. If they did that to you then you should sue and prove they did because its totally against the law
….
And hickies on the other side!
Geez, they just wanted a drink… And, I’m sure they planned to return the empty bottle for the deposit!
They ALL get into the revolving door!
Alicia has been around. ” BDNPosted Sept. 27, 2011, at 8:26 p.m Alicia Perkins, 22, Mars Hill, three counts theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, jail 45 days each count, restitution $655.70; false public alarm or report, jail 45 days.” Andrew knows the procedure too: BDN Posted Jan. 02, 2012, at 4:36 p.mLance Johnson, 26, and Andrew Hanson, 19, both of Bangor, were charged with criminal trespass when they returned to the square after they had been told by police to leave and not return.”
why add lance Johnsons name he had nothing to do with the crime those two did nothing at all.
Smile Alicia….your parents must be so proud of you girl.
I’m glad Alicia is so happy – probably just the start of a new crime career.
Andrew gets the award for Best Use of Dirty Clothes Pile.

Why do I feel compelled to say that you just never know what you’ll find when poking around in someone’s dirty laundry?
I’m familiar with this kid and I can’t help but chuckle because I can totally picture him hiding in a pile of dirty clothes.
They weren’t sure what to bring to the mensa meeting, so they settled on a bottle of hooch.
Neck tatt!!!!
Smile and say cheese for the camera
Same people over and over again getting arrested. Can’t we buy them a one way Greyhound ticket out of here? Other states do that to us. Time to reciprocate.
gotta pay for that court house somehow.
Maybe if it was a pile of trash he had hidden in the cops would never of found him….blending in and all…
More crime commit on or for booze,,, It should be taxed $2.00 a bottle to help in the cost of our jail system…
If they did that, they would just hire more government workers. They would have to form a committee to see just where the money should go. Then they would have to hire someone to make sure it went to the right place. Hey you just created at least two new jobs for the state of Maine.
twenty three dollars for a bottle and no get away plan.. must have went to bangor high for a week or so
Only in Bangor…LOL
Young hearts be free tonight….
I don’t think that time is on their side tonight though. seems to have run out. at least for this time to the klink. oh, and great lyrics.
Great job Bangor P.D.. They were going to get hammered on Sambuca and make a baby. Now how are they going to share their love for each other?
Brilliant! Whenever I commit a crime and there is snow on the ground, I walk back-wards from the scene to my house so that the police can’t track me…….Crazy criminals….
Why do they always smile pretty for the camera? Do they not realize that it can’t go into that portfolio?
This is hilarious!!!!!!!
They guys must of digested liquid plumber as kids…..
Not the sharpest tool in the shed..
#winning!
It’s amazing to see how a little petty crime on the part of a couple of foolish young people brings out so much mean-spirited sentiment in this comment section. Don’t you pathetic trolls have anything more constructive to do? For shame.
to Answer your question. Nope. I have a few hours to kill before heading off to a 13 hour night shift.
It would be pathetic if not for the fact that these are pete and repeat offenders. For instance (not to mention what others posted re: crimes before) Alicia >>> Bangor police say Big Apple ‘robbery’ was an inside job http://bangor-launch.newspackstaging.com/2011/05/24/news/police-beat/bangor-police-say-big-apple-%E2%80%98robbery%E2%80%99-was-an-inside-job/ she was arrainged in Mid June and plead not guilty (rolling my eyeballs) anyway, just sayin’.

I know this young lady. She went to school with our son. She was always a good kid. She was raised by her Grandparents who have since passed away. I’m sure they would be so broken hearted to see her in this situation.

Dumb and dumber on the run, but get caught sniffing snow!
I certainly hope her child was taken from her early on. Her facebook is easily accessible.
