LINCOLN – Brian K. Monroe, 53, passed away peacefully Feb. 3, 2012, at a Lincoln nursing home. Brian was born June 17, 1958, in Lincoln, to Bernice (King) Monroe and Carroll Monroe.

Brian loved cats and anything related to cats. He loved to go for rides and go shopping with his mom. He loved teasing his sister, Shari and his brother, Malcolm.

He is survived by his loving mother, Bernice Monroe; brother, Malcolm; and sister, Shari and husband, Scott Sawyer, all of Lincoln; a special aunt, Teresa and uncle, Reuben King; cousins, Darla King and Delbert, Dale-Ann and Damien Parent and family, and Stuart King; uncle, Bob and aunt, Helen Monroe; and uncle, Kenneth; several other aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Brian was predeceased by his father, Carroll Monroe; grandparents, Clair and Edna King, and Lloyd and Love Monroe; and uncles, Herbert and Donald Monroe.

Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at Community Evangel Temple, River Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, with the Rev. Tim Shaw officiating.
