PORTLAND, Maine — Hundreds of Maine Republicans are headed to municipal caucuses as the 2012 presidential campaign gets real in Maine.

GOP activists were asked to hold their caucuses between Feb. 4 and 11, and more than half are being held this weekend.

Of the four candidates, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul were said to have the best organizations in Maine, where there’s much less of a presence seen for Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum.

On Saturday, 25 Penobscot County municipalities hold their caucuses at Husson University in Bangor.

Aroostook County Republicans were to caucus Friday and Saturday, while Cumberland County features a mix of dates between this and next weekend. With some exceptions, Franklin, Kennebec, Lincoln, Knox, Oxford and Waldo county towns will caucus this weekend.

      1. Unlike you, most don’t want someone that will shred the Constitution—

If you haven’t been watching, real world is coming apart, and the “only” thing that separates us from total anarchy is our rights and freedoms, including the 2nd Amendment & the right to tell the government that they do not have the right to force us to buy anything…!
