DOVER-FOXCROFT – Paul R. Lovejoy, 82, husband of the late June (Potter) Lovejoy, died Feb. 4, 2012, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born Jan. 26, 1930, in Monson, son of Lester Z. and Hazel (Davis) Lovejoy.
He was a master mechanic and had worked for the Department of Public Works, Sharon, Mass., for many years, prior to moving to Dover-Foxcroft. Since moving back to Maine, he particularly enjoyed all aspects of construction work. Paul had belonged to the Masons in Walpole, Mass., for 28 years.
Paul is survived by three sons, David of Sharon, Mass., Dennis and Steven, both of Dover-Foxcroft; two daughters, Roxanne Salvucci of Guilford and Patricia Tompkins of Guilford; a beloved brother, Philip of Milford, N.H.; beloved cousin, Tom Lanpher of Dover-Foxcroft; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Paula Gardner; two brothers, Horace and Earl; and sister, Barbara Merrill.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9, in the family lot at Dover Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Paul’s life after the service at Center Pond.
