WALLINGFORD, Conn. – Alta Loretta (Arbo) Noyes, 99, formerly of Maine, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, in Meriden, Conn. She was the loving wife of the late Harold Noyes. Alta was born Aug. 4, 1912, in Patten, daughter of the late Howard and Christine (Brennan) Arbo.
She retired from the Curtis Home after 20 years cooking alongside her twin sister, the late Emma Dunphy. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Myrna Gagne and her husband, Joseph, with whom she made her home in Wallingford, Conn.; her grandchildren, Terry Perry and his wife, Michelle, of Maine, Donalene Lounder and her husband, Timothy, of Texas, Jay Perry and his wife, Kathleen, of Wallingford, Conn., Timmy Perry and his friend, Kelly, of Meriden, Conn., Jeremy Gagne of Boston, David Noyes, Vicky Noyes, and Fred Noyes and his wife, Gail, all of Maine; her great-grandchildren, Justin, Kelly and Emily Lounder, Jason Perry and his wife, Amy, Nathan, Matthew, Joshua and Kyle Perry, David Noyes and his wife, Mandy, Brandon, Monica and Anthony Noyes, and Jamie and Ronnie Kaelin; four great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sons, Archie and Frederick Noyes; her six brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call 10:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 11, at Bowers Funeral Home, 56 Sherman St., Island Falls, where funeral services will be held noon with the Rev. David Dyrenforth officiating. A time of fellowship will be held immediately after the service at Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, Patten.
