DOVER-FOXCROFT – Paul Andrew Nichols, 50, passed away Feb. 7, 2012, at his home with family and friends by his side. He was born April 17, 1961, in Houlton, son of the late Robert and Mildred (Young) Nichols.
Paul served with the U.S. Army from 1980 to 1984. He was an avid golfer and wood worker. He was also a sports enthusiast. Paul loved working in lumber sales and was employed at Webber/Ace Hardware where he had made several special friends.
Paul is survived by his wife, Bobbie Nickerson; daughter, Mercedes Nickerson, both of Dover-Foxcroft; son, Paul Nichols Jr. of Bangor; granddaughter, Gracie Nichols; stepson, Kent Smallwood of Corinth; stepdaughter, Tasha Khan of Virginia; sister, Julie Lockhart and husband, Ollie, of Danforth; brother, Steven Nichols and wife, Jackie, of Delaware; brother, John Nichols and his wife, Lori, of Houlton; sister, Michelle Bedard and her husband, Jacques, of Skiff Lake, Canada; sister-in-law, Marcie Grant and her husband, Eric, of Bradford; brother-in-law, LT Nickerson and his wife, Kim, of South Berwick; sister-in-law, Kielie Gray and her husband, Dean, of Hudson; sister-in-law, Michelle Burnett and her husband, Keith, of Corinth; sister-in-law, Ashley Jones and her husband, Greg, of Browns Mills, N.J.; mother-in-law, Shirley Merrill and her husband, Arthur, of Dover-Foxcroft; and father-in-law, Larry Nickerson Sr. and Kim Andrews of Dover-Foxcroft. Paul is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; special friends, Scott Spurling of Massachusetts, Mark Hughes of Florida, Jamie Thomas and Karen Snow of Dover-Foxcroft, Danielle and Pig Mailloux and family of Dover-Foxcroft; and many close friends in the Brewer area. Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A special thank you is extended to Varney Agency and Webber/Ace Hardware.
