DOVER-FOXCROFT – Margaret Sanborn Webber, 93, passed away peacefully Feb. 7, 2012. Born April 3, 1918, in Dover-Foxcroft, Margaret was the oldest child of Melborn A. and Edith B. Sanborn.
She graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1937 and later attended secretarial school. On Nov. 10, 1939, Margaret was married to W. Ward Webber and their lives together revolved around their family. Margaret spent years teaching younger generations to play the piano, derived tremendous enjoyment from caring for her grandchildren, and instilled in others her positive attitude and outlook on life. Her hobbies included photography, sewing, playing the piano and knitting mittens for others. Her favorite place was her cottage at Sebec Lake, where she spent time with family, swam and biked. Margaret was also very involved in her community. She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and contributed to the musical program.
Margaret, beloved mother, grandmother and wife, was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, W. Ward Webber; and her brother, John Sanborn. She is survived by her daughters, Mary W. Frederick of Dover-Foxcroft and Dianne W. LaPointe of Bangor and their husbands, Thomas J. Frederick and Larry LaPointe; four grandchildren, Jason W. Frederick of Brewer, Tamlyn M. Frederick of Brunswick, Nicole LaPointe of Bangor and Lori Sargent and her husband, Herbert Sargent, of Hampden; and two great-grandchildren, Savannah Sargent and James Sargent.
Friends and family are invited to call 2 p.m. until the time of funeral service 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with Pastor Ray Beless officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot at Dover Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the W. Ward and Margaret S.
