SANFORD – Elliott Samuel Hoctor passed away in his sleep the morning of Feb. 7, 2012, at his home. Elliott came into this world at 5:47 a.m. Nov. 12, 2011, in Portland, and his mother, Michelle Hoctor of Sanford, immediately greeted her first child with showers of “I love you” and nothing but sheer bliss that autumn day in Portland. Just three months later, Elliott would leave the world far too soon for any of the lives he had touched to see him go, but would forever leave his little handprint on their hearts.
After Elliott’s birth, he came to live with his mother and grandparents, Michael and Nancy Hoctor, in Sanford, where he was loved more and more with each passing day. One look at Elliott’s face and his smile would show just how adored our little guy was and still is. He made his family proud to call him son, grandson, nephew and cousin.
Elliott leaves behind his loving mother, Michelle Hoctor; grandparents, Michael and Nancy Hoctor of Sanford; uncle, John and aunt, Jessica and cousins, Sullivan and Forrest, of Huntersville, N.C.; uncle, Sam Hoctor of Atlanta; cousin, Kris Hewes; friend, Joey Stacey; and many more friends and family.
A funeral service for Elliott will take place 2 p.m. Sunday at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. Visiting hours for family and friends will commence noon until the time of the funeral service. Elliott’s family asks that all who would like to make a charitable contribution in his name, do so to The SIDS Research Foundation at http://www.sids.org/online/. Condolences may be expressed at
