“To my friends and relatives: Whatever the circumstances of my death may be, I ask that my family be spared the arrangements of my funeral; do not take this as an insult to the traditional tokens of condolence but as a desire to return to the peace of family life which I have always loved above everything else. That especially those that know prayer, will try to find it. That all those who I may have injured by violence, indifference, or weakness, will so grant me their forgiveness. That they will ask of God to grant me his.” At her request, there will be no services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Florence’s honor to The Shaw House, 136 Union St., Bangor, ME 04401. Notes of condolences may be left at
