BANGOR, Maine — Few details are being released about a knife fight that occurred late Sunday on Cedar Street, but two people — a woman and a man — have been arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said.

Bangor residents Stacee Stratton, 30 and Leslie Larrabee, 34, were arrested Monday afternoon and face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000 if convicted.

Someone called police about 10:30 p.m. Sunday to report a stabbing, and when officers arrived they found a 28-year-old man, Stratton and Larrabee all with knife wounds, Edwards said.

“The three of them … had some injuries due to this altercation,” the sergeant said.

The unnamed male victim and Stratton were taken to the emergency room at Eastern Maine Medical Center.

Stratton was treated and released, and the 28-year-old man was still at the hospital at midday Monday with injuries that are not life-threatening, Edwards said.

Larrabee did not seek medical attention.

Police found blood at the scene, collected evidence, including a number of knives, and interviewed several people, the sergeant said.

“There was a group of people involved in this,” he said. “At this point, we’re just trying to get information out of them.”

Who stabbed whom and what caused the assault to happen are still under investigation, the sergeant said, adding that the people involved know each other.

The Bangor Police Department’s evidence response team was dispatched to the scene to assist detectives in their investigation.

Stratton was convicted of disorderly conduct in September 2007 and Larrabee was convicted of criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and the sale and use of drug paraphernalia in 2008, according to court listings in the Bangor Daily News.

Both Stratton and Larrabee were taken to Penobscot County Jail on Monday afternoon and are scheduled to have their first court appearance on Wednesday, a jail official said.
