FORT KENT – Rita (Blanchette) Pelletier, 88, died peacefully Feb. 13, 2012, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Fort Kent, daughter of Archille and Emma (Berube) Blanchette.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Gerry Pelletier of Fort Kent; four children, Carl Pelletier of Fort Kent, Ann Pelletier of Madawaska, Gary and his wife, Esther Pelletier, of Diamond Bar, Calif., and Peter Pelletier of Fort Kent; eight grandchildren, Kristy Servheen, Israel, Eli, Sarah, Rachel and Micah Fournier, Garrett Pelletier and Justin Pelletier; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Real Blanchette; three sisters, Weda Blanchette, Rose Pelletier and Joanne Montana; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rita was predeceased by four brothers, Conrad, Valier, Patrick and Ronald Blanchette; and one sister, Lorette Wendler.

Friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent.

Spring burial will be held May 16, at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita’s memory may be made to Hospice of Aroostook, P.O. Box 688, Caribou, ME 04736.
