BANGOR, Maine — Local police are looking for a missing Florida firefighter who last was seen in the area on Thursday, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Tuesday night.
Jerry Perdomo, 31, of Orange City, Fla., drove a rental car from the Sunshine State to Bangor, where it was found abandoned on Friday morning at Walmart off Stillwater Avenue.
He is a firefighter/emergency medical technician for the Seminole County Fire Department and didn’t show up for work as scheduled on Sunday, Florida firefighter/paramedic Shane Rogers said Tuesday night.
“We were worried all day,” he said of his fellow firefighters.
Perdomo was heading to Bangor to visit a friend, Rogers said.
He is described as a 200-pound Puerto Rican male, 5 foot, 11 inches, with black hair and brown eyes. Perdomo last was seen wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, fatigue shorts and black sneakers.
Those with information about the whereabouts of Perdomo are asked to call the Bangor Police Department at 947-7382. The department’s anonymous tip line can be reached by pressing ext. 6.
Don’t they have cameras on the light poles in walmart parking lots?
There are cameras on the building itself, don’t know about the poles. They have blind spots though.

Wow, that’s odd. Why was he in Bangor? Scary to think of people just disappearing like that. Makes me think twice about shopping alone at night. Not safe anymore.

The article doesn’t say if he ever saw his friend in Bangor. Nor does it say who filled the missing persons report or if one was even filed. Did Wal-Mart report an abandoned vehicle which spurred this search? I’m no reporter but come on BDN you can do better than this.
Why doesn’t the wal-mart have outside camara’s?
Because they are cheap company. They pay their workers the lowest that they can. Do you think they’ll use money to install cameras? All they want is your money and screw you after you leave the store.
maybe his was to meet someone he met on craigslist or facebook or twitter and this person had bad intentions .I certainly hope not and him being missing is of his own accord and will resurface when he chooses.
he is a very well respected person in our comunity in a county that has 6 firedepts who run over 50,000 calls a yr he opefully is ok but usually circumstances in this type of situation dont end well
Well, I hope they find him. Bangor is turning into a very scary place to live, what with bath salts and all kinds of people coming here for welfare benefits. Never used to be that way, but it is now. Glad I moved away. Hopefully, someone has some useful information to help find him.

The Brothers and Sisters of Local 3254 are waiting for the word to come north to help find our Brother, He just came to Bangor to visit a friend but something bad has gone wrong. I hope the folks in Bangor will join the Firefighters of Fl and help find our brother. If you live in Bangor and know anything about this case please call the police. I don’t want to be the one to tell his two kids Daddy’s not coming home. Help us out…..

What could have happened to that young firefighter from Florida?? I know that area of Bangor, shopped at that Walmart many times…It is a safe area not even that populated, a new store and parking area, plenty of lighting ….Where is he?
Wow, Jerry came to me when he was shopping for a new Explorer. He wanted a specific model and no one had it. I told him I was going to order one exactly the way he wanted. We hit it off, great guy! When the vehicle came in 9 weeks later, he took delivery of a new vehicle. Now today, my sister says that her nephew is missing. She mentioned that he was a firefighter and he lived in Orange City. Then my wife showed me the article. The chills went up and down my spine. I never knew he was related to our family and I sold his family his Explorer. Jerry, we are praying for you and your family too.
