PORTLAND, Maine — A Portland woman has pleaded guilty after being arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in November, police said Wednesday.
Police arrested Lisa McDonald, 48, and charged her with manslaughter in connection with the death of her boyfriend, Carlos Ramos, Portland police Det. Karl Rybeck said.
She remains in jail after pleading not guilty.
Rybeck told the Bangor Daily News that McDonald was the only person in Ramos’ Forest Avenue apartment when police responded to the stabbing call.
“The night this happened she was [the only one] there,” he said.
Neighbors described their relationship as volatile.
Ramos died of stab wounds to his chest.
McDonald is being held at the Cumberland County Jail on $50,000 bail.

I agree. If every home and or person had a gun………..people may start minding their own business and stay out of homes they don’t belong in. Crime would go down if every home had a gun. We still have to take into consideration the extreme amount of mentally ill folks and not start shooting everyone!!!

Guess what happens when people dont have access to guns , they use knives , screw drivers, hammers , baseball bats, ect, ect, taking guns away wont slow the killings down. Women seem to be killing as many people as men. Oh I forgot they are always the poor victims .
Have you noticed their choice of weapon seems to be a knife , more humane than a gun in their mind ! Or maybe they realize there is much more pain inflicted with a knife . And so another man’s death goes unnoticed by the DV industry. It is important to me that every death that is caused to one family member, by another family member be recorded as domestic violence murder, so that the numbers are not skewed anymore. The longer we allow law enforcement, district attorneys and courts to do this the more likely it is that people will believe only men commit domestic violence, and the longer women will get away with murder. You and I and know the Govenor wants domestic violence to become a man’s issue, well here I am trying to help.
