WHITING – Jesse L. Reid, 31, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012. He was born Sept. 25, 1980, in Machias, to Bruce Reid and Cindy Nation.
A kind, loving heart is at rest – a soft, gentle soul at peace. Jesse’s heart and soul was his son, Taylor. He was a dedicated father who spent his last year of life devoted to raising his son. Jesse was an avid snowboarder and skate boarder following his passion to Colorado to fulfill his dreams. He was also known for his genuine smile, warm and caring attitude, but most of all his total devotion to Taylor. Jesse’s sense of family brought him back to Maine reuniting him to all he cared about. He will be warmly remembered and sadly missed, but will live on safely tucked in the hearts of those whose lives he so lovingly touched. Jesse was a graduate of Washington Academy and Washington County Technical College and had recently been attending the University of Maine at Machias. Jesse was instilling his faith in God and church with his son, Taylor, as a communicant of Holy Name Catholic Church.
Jesse leaves behind his precious only son, Taylor; his treasured and devoted mother, Cindy Nation and respected stepdad, Jim Holmes; as well as his loving brother, Bret Reid; father, Bruce Reid; half sisters, Kathleen and Allex Reid; his memere, Patricia Gagnon; his gramp, Roland Reid; many uncles, aunts and cousins, as well as many extended family members. He was predeceased by his pepere, Lionel Gagnon; and his nana, Ruth Reid. Jesse leaves many warm memories to his countless friends who will remain in his heart forever.
A memorial Mass to celebrate Jesse’s life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at Holy Name Church, Machias. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to benefit Taylor at Bar Harbor Banking & Trust, Machias.
