FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — The case against a Fort Fairfield man who worked with a local after-school program and was charged in September 2011 with possession of sexually explicit material remains under investigation in Aroostook County.
Aroostook County District Attorney Todd Collins said Monday that the case against Jake Rogeski, 23, is still proceeding through the court system. The case has not yet been presented to the grand jury.
Rogeski was charged last fall after investigators say they found at his home sexually explicit images of children as young as 5 years old.
Sgt. Glenn Lang of the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit said at the time that his unit spent several days in The County investigating a tip that ultimately led to a search of Rogeski’s residence.
Lang said that investigators discovered a number of images, including 15 video clips, in Rogeski’s possession. Lang said the children in the images appear to be between 5 and 7 years old. Police do not believe that any of the victims are from the local community.
Rogeski was employed by SAD 20 to assist with its 21st Century After School program but resigned after the investigation began. Students in the program receive help with their homework, are given healthful snacks and participate in other programs to help them excel academically and socially. He had worked in the program for three or four years with children in grades three to six, according to district officials.
Rogeski was arrested but immediately posted bail. His bail conditions mandate that he have no contact with children under 18 years old. He also cannot possess any technology that could be used to access the Internet.

I am still in shock.. I know perverts are everywhere, but when it hits home in a small community like ours it really opens your eyes to things that are going on in the world. I so hope and pray none of our children have been victimized, and pray for the children that have. This is a life long hurt these children will have to endure.. I know I have stepped up supervision and questioning with my children!!!!!
In my opinion people who view child pornography would molest a child. If they get all excited watching this garbage its just a matter of time before they act on it. Usually but not always some of these “people” re-offend. There’s on one cure…….. (I hope this is politically correct) I’ve been deleted before
Sgt. Glenn Lang is a joke. He’s already compromised the crime lab by publishing the passwords to their “Members Only” page online. Some of us downloaded the content before most of it was apparently removed…

Shows a lot about your character that you would even post that, even if it has been changed.
Child Pornography Cases, in my opinion, should all be investigated and prosecuted by the Federal Government. The penalites for being sentenced in Federal Court in regards to child porn are severe. The FBI, and the US Postal Inspection Service along with ICE and very good at investigating these crimes.
If all you are looking for is more jail time, then Maine should have mandatory minimum sentence guidlines that require more jail time than what is currently being handed out by judges……Maine actaully has top notch computer crime investigators.
I think prison sentences are more strict in Federal Court. Im sure that the State Police and other police organizations in Maine are more than capable of handling the investigations of these types of crimes. I do know that the FBI, ICE and the Postal Service is excellent. Also, most cases of child pornography seem to have interstate or international aspects to them through the transmission of the material.
There seems to be as many teacher accused with these types of crimes as Minsters, where is all the out cry and bashing of teachers like I saw on the Catholic church????
Hey, Jed–where are all the school districts and school administrators who close ranks behind the criminal, like the Catholic hierarchy did? It was a published FACT that the Catholic Diocese in Boston would pay any amount of money to settle civil claims so that NO member of the Catholic clergy would be able to testify UNDER OATH in any kind of civil proceeding. When you can point a finger at any school district that has done that, then maybe you will have a leg to stand on. Or a kneeler to pray on.
It’s simple, being a member of a religion is politically incorrect. Being a member of the teacher’s union however is to be in the protected class. The lame stream media would never whip up hysteria against their fellow travelers in liberalism.
