BANGOR, Maine — A man whose bail conditions prohibit him from consuming alcohol was arrested Monday, according to police.

The case started with an argument between Robert Bowring, 28, and a woman at an Ohio Street apartment, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said.

“When we got there, we talked to a female who was not cooperative with police,” said Edwards.

When police located Bowring in the area and ran his name, he was taken to the police station and given a breathalyzer test.

The results showed that Bowring had alcohol in his system, and he subsequently was arrested and charged with violating conditions of his release, Edwards said. The woman was not arrested.

  1. A very large portion of people out on bail are required to stay away from liquor. Let’s require them to drink as much as possible when they post bail. More often than not, they do the exact opposite of what their bail conditions mandate-they might just stay sober. It’s worth a shot.

    1. It wouldn’t be a problem if these people actually had to work for a living.

Their employment would keep them straight(er).

    2. If this guys first time breaking bail- he’ll be out in 48 hrs. Don’t see any priors mentioned  in the story, so Maybe he thinks that’s all he’ll get the second time, but he won’t get off that easy , on the next one… J/S

  2. Most of them want three squares a day and a tv to watch , thats why they re-offend ! Times are tough all over !
