LAWRENCE ‘PEE-WEE’ E. THORNE
BANGOR – Lawrence E. Thorne joined his friends and family in heaven Feb. 27, 2012, at his home after a short battle with cancer. He was born in 1937, in Bangor, to Marguerite and Edward Thorne.
Larry worked construction for many years before becoming a federal compliance officer for the U.S. Department of Labor – OSHA. Larry enjoyed baseball, especially watching the Yankees, going to the ocean and life in general. If there is a baseball game in heaven, you can bet Pee-Wee’s standing at third base.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sydney Thorne; children, Alison and husband, John Peters, Andrew and wife, Monica Thorne, Maureen Thorne-Stadelman, Kym and husband, Orin Jacobs, and Elizabeth and husband, William Vigue; grandchildren, Rachel and Tadhg Thorne, Zachary and Ivy Jacobs, John, Julia and Jocelyn Buys, and Liam Vigue; siblings, Beverly, Gerald, Noreen, Eddie and Lorraine; and special cats, Lydia and Baby George. Larry was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Sheila.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on a date to be determined. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, Bangor and Brewer.
