CARMEL and BANGOR – Phyllis A. Matyskiela, 86, passed away March 1, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility after a long illness. She was born June 25, 1925, in Wellington, the daughter of Harry and Edna (Giggey) Dickinson.

She was a kind, compassionate, caring and generous woman, who always put the needs of others before her own. Phyllis was always a lady, very polite, cordial and gentle. She enjoyed time with family and friends, painting, drinking tea, playing cards and teaching younger generations how to play poker, dancing, music, long and scenic car rides, sewing, cooking, and keeping a spotless home.
Phyllis is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Henry of Carmel; her son, Michael; and her daughter, Dianne, both of Bangor; her granddaughter, Eliza and her significant other, Mark, of Newburgh; her grandson, Thomas Jr. of Bangor; her aunt and best friend, Marjorie and her husband, Bill Hutchins, of Carmel; many nieces and nephews.
