LIVERMORE FALLS, Maine — The state fire marshal’s office arrested two people Friday afternoon on arson charges in connection with a fire last July at a Livermore Falls convenience store.
Ericka Poland-Rolfe, 29, and 21-year-old Miguel Cedeno, both of Livermore Falls, each are charged with arson and conspiracy to commit arson, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Friday evening in a news release.
Poland-Rolfe was the owner of JP Corner Store on Pleasant Street, which was damaged on July 26 of last year when the building was set on fire after an air conditioner was removed, McCausland said.
He said an investigation indicated that a flammable liquid was used to start the fire. The fire was extinguished by firefighters before serious damage occurred and the store has since reopened under new ownership.
Investigators say Poland-Rolfe hired Cedeno to set to fire.
Poland-Rolfe was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail and is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail, McCausland said. He said Cedeno is being held either in that jail or in Franklin County, where he was in custody on an unrelated charge.
For some reason, hyphenated names (and those with Roman numerals after their name), always bothered me as being somehow pretentious. No real reasoning behind it, just my own feeling.
