MAPLETON and FORT KENT – Daniel Paradis, 46, died peacefully Feb. 29, 2012, surrounded by his family at a Presque Isle health care facility. He was born Sept. 18, 1965, in Fort Kent, son of Roger and Rose Anne (Levesque) Paradis of Fort Kent.

Daniel graduated magna cum laude from the University of Toranton in 1989 with a degree in engineering. He was employed by McCain Foods Inc., U.S. and Canada, in different areas of management. He was an avid outdoorsman who hiked parks across the U.S. and Canada, but he had a particular love for the Allagash.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved wife of five years, Andrea Paradis of Mapleton; three children, Elizabeth Paradis of Colorado, David and Kate Paradis of Mapleton; two sisters, Elaine and her husband, Chris Luthin, of Orono and Sonya Paradis of Eagle Lake; one brother, Marc Paradis and his partner, Sean Mahonny, of Portland; and grandfather, Maurice Levesque of Baker Brook, New Brunswick. He is also survived by several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Daniel was predeceased by his grandmother, Rose-Alma Levesque; and grandparents, Fred and Mary Paradis.

Friends may call 8-10 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Spring burial will be held May 15 at the parish cemetery.
