NORWALK, Conn. – Claude Violette, 94, died March 3, 2012, at his home. He was the husband of the late RoseMarie Emond Violette. Claude was born Jan. 4, 1918, in Van Buren, son of the late Calixte and Ernestine Cote Violette.

Claude was a bulldozer operator for Deering Construction Co. until 1968 and The Dalling Construction Co. until his retirement in 1980.

Survivors include six daughters, Patricia Wilder, Diana Mills, Linda Violette, Dorothy Violette, Susan Hartson and Claudia Keller; two brothers, Roland and Lloyd Violette; two sisters, Norma Gonzalez and Rachael Dubay; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Claude’s daughters would also like to recognize his granddaughter Charlette Lewis of Norwalk, Conn., for all the special care she provided to her Pepere in his last years.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk, Conn., with burial afterward at St. John Cemetery.
