BREWER – Stella “Stell” (Paul-hus) Morrill, 91, a retired employee of Cap Morrill’s Inc., entered into eternal rest March 3, 2012, at a Bangor health care center. She was born Sept. 28, 1920, in Northampton, Mass., daughter of Elzear and Marie (LaPointe) Paul-hus.She was a graduate of Northampton High School, Springfield Hospital School of Nursing and attended Columbia University. She worked for Springfield Hospital as a clinical supervisor, the Springfield Visiting Nurses Association, the Army Nurse Corps as a lieutenant during World War II in England, and for Haynes Memorial Hospital for Communicable Diseases as assistant director of nurses. She had been an active communicant and Eucharistic minister of St. Teresa’s Parish and a charter member of St. Teresa’s Sodality. In 1948 she married Carleton E. Morrill “Cap,” who died in 1983. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Theresa Smith of Easthampton, Mass., and Marie Kaloski of Northampton, Mass. She leaves behind one sister, Leona Lavallee of Northampton, Mass.; a beloved son, Philip E. Morrill and daughter-in-law, Catherine Veilleux of Brewer; a much loved daughter, Jeanne E. Morrill and son-in-law, Peter Barnes, of Greenfield, Mass.; two especially dear granddaughters, Aimee Morrill Briant and her husband, Rich, of Mine Hill, N.J., and Emily Morrill of Portland; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Stella’s family expresses their deep gratitude to the staff of the Maine Veterans Home for their kind and loving care.Family and friends may visit 4-6 p.m. Monday, March 5, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, South Main Street, Brewer, with Stell’s nephew, the Rev. Bruce Morrill, S.J., and the Rev. Rudolph Leveille, concelebrating. Burial with military honors will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 1909 South Ashland Ave., Chicago, IL 60608.
