PORTLAND, Maine — A late-night pizza run has landed a Portland man in jail.
Steven Ricci, 48, who was released from the Cumberland County Jail last week after serving a sentence for indecent conduct, went back behind bars Friday after he violated his dusk-to-dawn probation order, according to Portland police Lt. Gary Rogers.
“Apparently he went out for a pizza” past his curfew, Rogers said.
Ricci was behind bars after being convicted of masturbating in front of a woman on the Fore River trail last summer. He has cerebral palsy, according to Rogers.
Rogers said an off-duty jail deputy spotted Ricci walking along Brighton Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Friday and contacted police.
Ricci, who was carrying a Little Caesers pizza, was arrested. Rogers said Ricci was walking back to the hotel where he had been staying, as his home is uninhabitable.
Obviously the guy has poor judgement, Liitle Caesers?
Wonder if they let him eat it?
No reason not to let the man eat.
Could be messy if he had to eat it with handcuffs on.
Who paid is paying for the hotel and the pizza?
My guess would be his homeowners insurance.

I don’t know how I feel about this one, pretty split. 1.I feel bad he was just going to get a pizza. The police had nothing better to do? He wasn’t drunk or high. 2. He did masturbate in front of a woman in plain daylight. Most of us men know a little better then that. He could have just hiked into the woods a bit! He must have deserved the curfew. Input?
cops – on duty and off- in this case- seem to have nothing better to do..is my input on it. as you stated, he wasn’t drunk or high. he was hungry..

When did public masterbation become a crime? I can understand being arrested for breaking curfew,,,,,,but isn’t self expression and feeling good about oneself the cornerstone of liberal thought?

Anyone who thinks it’s OK to break a probation rule and/or think this has something to do with the Police not being busy enough will probably also be the first one to pis and moan if this guy had been found again in public self pleasuring himself in front a child .. I can hear them now .. what was he doing out after hours?! Police just don’t do their jobs … waaaa waaa WAAA! You can’t have it both ways In MY opinion …
