NORWALK, Conn. — A former Connecticut gymnastics instructor who was convicted of fondling an 8-year-old student has been charged with violating his probation by visiting a gymnastics school in Maine.
Sixty-three-year-old Vincent Pozzuoli of Milford was arraigned Monday in Norwalk Superior Court and ordered detained on $50,000 bail. He was sentenced to five years of probation last year after pleading guilty to fourth-degree sexual assault for groping an 8-year-old boy at the Norwalk YMCA.
Police say Pozzuoli violated his probation recently when he lied about a trip to Topsham, Maine, where he stayed with a friend whose home is attached to a gymnastics school. Probation officials said the Maine school was the same one where Pozzuoli assaulted an 11-year-old boy in 1994.
It’s not clear if Pozzuoli has a lawyer.

He was visiting “a friend whose home is attached to a gymnastics school” – I have to wonder about the friend and the school. The school was, ” the same one where Pozzuoli assaulted an 11-year-old boy in 1994.” This all sounds rather strange and I would be worried if I had kids in that school.

THERE IS NO CURE FOR ADULT PEDOPHILIA! THIS DISEASE IS CATCHING!
You do not lock pedophiles up, and expect a “reformed” offender upon release. There are only two ways to be sure they will not “re-offend” Confine them until they are dead, or make them dead upon conviction.
It sounds harsh, but at this point in human history these are the choices. A third choice is to allow them to exploit and damage more children… Who then often (if untreated) become pedophiles themselves.

If my dog became vicious and had to be put down, I would be very sad. I would also be sad for the people whom my dog bit. My insurance company would also be sad about this.
Why are vicious dogs humanly euthanized, but re-offending pedophiles are given unlimited chances to hurt other children? No my son, daughter, brother, sister, or other loved ones wouldn’t be exempt. Fortunately for me, that problem has not arisen in my family.
I’m not “doctor” but I have studied this subject for years. I have also observed children subjected to the abuse you so lightly dismiss. Your links are good, and a resource for people dealing with sexual offenders (a general term) “Pedophilia” on the other hand is a specific term solely related to people who have sex with children. These are the people that are resistant to treatment, mostly because they do not wish to change. A single pedophile may abuse as many as 1,000 children in their lifetime. Take Father Fredette the Worcester Massachusetts. He has been accused by over 200 men of having sex with them when they were 8 to 15 years of age. Of course these are the people who come forward, many do not.
Interesting that you are so concerned about “offenders” in your missive, but say nothing, zero, zip about victims. That is a classic behavior for pedophiles… it is always all about them, no one else matters.

Lets talk briefly about the tremendous contamination that occurs between inmates in Maine prisons. murderers, arsonists, pedophiles, bank robbers, drug dealers, rapists, etc

Please be advised I have been railing against prisons for years. I favor total reform of our “corrections” system, HOWEVER in some (rare) cases it isn’t about “reform” it is about keeping society safe. child rapists are such a case. They are (according to many sources) incurable. and un-remorseful. They commit multiple acts over their lifetimes, and the recidivism rate for this one class of offender is 93% (from the website on Missing and exploited children)
I feel that mandatory life or euthanasia are the only solutions currently available. I will support rehabilitation for this class of criminal when it is proven that they can be made safe at least the 25% of the time you give for the prison population as a whole.
As an aside did you know that residency in State Foster care programs is the best indicator that a child will spend some time as an adult in prison?
Instead of going down the traditional path of Mental Wealth why didn’t you look at the link I provided and contact the sex offender who created the program to treat sex offenders?

I did check the link. AND you are still using the term “sex offenders.” I am not discussing the entire class of “sex offenders” I am talking about pedophiles. NOTHING in your link’s wealth of knowledge addresses pedophiles as a separate grouping.
