BANGOR – William “Bill” A. Bergeron, 51, passed away Feb. 27, 2012, at home, with his devoted partner, Donald Wright, by his side, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 13, 1960, in New Haven, Conn., the beloved son of Henry and Marguerite Bergeron.
Prior to his graduation from East Haven High School in Connecticut, Bill aspired to become the best by joining the Marine Corps. Serving seven years, he traveled the globe as an ambassador in green, often humbled by the conditions he encountered. His spirit and enthusiasm helped ease the suffering of many that he came in contact with during his service.
After leaving the Marine Corps as a sergeant, Bill was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for more than 20 years until his career was shortened by his illness.
Bill is survived by his partner, Donald Wright of Bangor; mother, Marguerite of Brewer; siblings, Dennis and wife, Roseanne, of Burlington, Vt., Joseph and wife, Jennifer, of New Haven, Conn., Mark of Greenfield, Sheila and partner, Sharon, of Greenfield, Michael of Branford, Conn., and Neil Johnson and wife, Shirley, of Greeley, Colo.; and nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Dennis, Katherine, Jayne, Brenda and Nicholas. He was predeceased by his father, Henry; and brothers, Alan and Robert Bergeron. Bill will be greatly missed by his partner, family, friends, co-workers and many more.
