BANGOR, Maine — A Brewer man was arrested early Sunday morning on a charge of domestic violence assault in connection with an incident in the parking lot behind the Main Tavern.

Earl Grover Sr., 42, also was charged with violating a condition of his release from a prior arrest. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail after his arrest but since has been released on bail, a jail official confirmed Monday.

The incident that led to Grover’s arrest involved an assault on Grover’s “on-again-off-again” girlfriend, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment of bruises and other injuries and then released, Bangor police Sgt. Larry Weber said Monday, citing an arrest report.

After the assault, Grover left the parking lot, Weber said. He said police officers caught up with him on the nearby Joshua Chamberlain Bridge and placed him under arrest.

    1. Was thinking the same thing about the on & off comment…..I do believe the “light switch” has been off for sometime now…..

  1. Class, for sure… I’m sure she wants his “Lovin'” too!! I’m sure this statement, “on-again-off-again” has a different meaning…

  2. I wonder if we can sign a petition to have all of the bail-commissioners in Maine, permanently laid-off…….. I completely understand that bail isn’t meant to punish the accused. Let the bail serve it’s purpose though.

  3. 10 bucks says that if you went to this class establishment she will be there buying him a beer and things are all about love today!

Now if want to wait till the first of the month you will see a packed house at 8 am
