BANGOR, Maine — Police stopped a group of people at around noon Tuesday and discovered one was wanted and arrested her, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Wednesday.

Sarah Denbow, 27, a Bangor-area transient, was taken to Penobscot County Jail and found with contraband, the sergeant said.

While she was being searched at the jail, a hypodermic needle was found on her, Edwards said.

The needle was empty but used, the sergeant said. Denbow was charged with felony trafficking in prison contraband as well as on the outstanding warrant. Her bail was set at $1,500 cash and she remained in jail Wednesday night, a jail official said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

  1. Geez, she looks really excited in the mug shot… Probably unhappy ’cause they found the needle!

  2. So if you’re down on your luck and you can’t harmonize, find a girl with far away eyes.

  3. “Oh my god. She’s only 27?! How’s them drugs treating you?” -what 90% of people posting will say.

  4. • Sarah Denbow, 25, Bangor, two counts of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.  BDN, 24 Aug 2009.

And thus one of the first signs of drug addiction was not heeded and has led to another.   BTW, a few months ago, the BDN showed a woman’s mug shot…she was 33 and didn’t look a day less than 53.    Sarah, the drugs are really starting to show.  Why don’t you get some professional help before your entire life is wasted?

  5. I still don’t understand the “trafficking in prison contraband” charge in cases like this.  She didn’t know she was headed to the crowbar motel went out the door.

    1. You will be asked by the police officer if you have any weapons or sharp objects, drugs and so, the officer will pat her down and if he/she does not find it and you don’t turn it over to them, once at the jail and a more complete search is conducted and an item is found, that is trafficking in prison contraband.

  6. i gotta call it like i sees it….the city is safer just a little bit tonight with another junkie off the streets!!!

  7. Why does BDN keep calling these scum transients? A transient is a person who is staying or working in a place for only a short time.  She needs to speed up her self destruction and save us the trouble supporting her.

  8. I am pretty sure this is someone I went to school with, although I barely recognize her. I can understand the heartless comments (I have made plenty myself, at various times), but… this is sad.

Sarah, my best to you and I hope you can get some help and turn things around.

  9. Sarah, I do not know you and I have never had a drug problem in all my 62 years of life. I can not pretend to know what you have been through in your life, that was bad enough to make you use. I can, however, say that you need help. You should get into rehab asap. At 27 you should not look like a 50 something year old woman. Girl, smarten up. Live life to the fullest and stop wasting time on drugs.

  10. I think the charge of ‘felony trafficking in prison contraband’  is bull, because it wasn’t as if she was trying to smuggle a used needle into jail.  While I hold disgust for those who are addicted to drugs, I don’t like inaccuracy when it comes to charges.

  11. She doesn’t look well.  Diabetic????   But really..this one is wanted and Lisa isn’t?   And she brings her own needle.
