BANGOR, Maine — The friend of a Florida firefighter killed last month in a drug-related homicide is no longer wanted for not showing up in court on an unrelated theft charge, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Wednesday.
Superior Court Justice John Nivison issued an arrest warrant for Bangor resident Lisa Gould on Tuesday morning after she didn’t appear in court to answer a charge of misdemeanor theft by unauthorized taking or transfer from last fall. He was told that she also had failed to show up for her arraignment in September.
“The DA’s office told me that Lisa Gould called the court yesterday stating she forgot she had to show up,” Edwards said, referring to the Penobscot County District Attorney’s Office. “The warrant, in turn, will likely be rescinded or removed until further arrangements have been made. The long and short is, Lisa Gould does not have a warrant out for her arrest at this time.”
Bangor police arrested Gould, 31, for shoplifting on Sept. 27 after a nearly monthlong search for her, Edwards said Tuesday.
Police were originally called at about 10 p.m. Aug. 30 to Kohl’s, where store surveillance cameras caught Gould placing perfume, jewelry and underwear in her purse, the sergeant said.
She took off running and was arrested a month later, Edwards said. She was arrested again in December after she failed to appear in court on the theft charge and an arrest warrant was issued on Dec. 6, a Penobscot County Jail official said.
Gould called the Bangor Police Department to report Jerry Perdomo, 31, of Orange City, Fla., missing on Feb. 16. She told police he had visited her once a month for the previous 10 months in order to transport and sell narcotics — mostly prescription pills.
Daniel Porter, 24, of Jackson is accused of killing Perdomo, who was a firefighter and emergency medical technician for the Seminole County Fire Department, on Feb. 16 in Jackson and dumping his body in the woods of Newburgh with a gunshot wound to the side of the head.
Porter, who told police he owed Perdomo $3,000, is claiming self-defense in the shooting death.
Our court system is to lax. Forgetting you have a court date is no excuse. She should be charged with failure to appear.
Yeah, let’s tie up more resources and cost the taxpayers more money to go after her, even though she essentially turned herself in. It’s about choosing your battles wisely. This one isn’t worth fighting.
Go after her? Its pretty easy to issue a summons. In my opinion she cost the taxpayers money by not showing up. The DA had to be prepared for her case prior to walking into the court room. I guess its OK now that if you don’t want to be bothered making your court appearance, all you have to say is “Oops, I forgot”. A little something to make sure you don’t forget again seems to be in order.
Seems to me a few times I went to court the DA got a postponement. It cost me a lot of money. Even one time I was charged with A crime I did not commit. They did not Pay me back . Heck I never even got my bail money back. I wonder how many people played the lets make a deal game when they were innocent because the cost would be less if they lost. When was the last time a DA or law enforcement was charged with perjury? I have an idea lets polygraph them all and the ones that fail the question if they ever lied in court dismiss them.
easy for you to say, cause im sure if everything that unfolded in front of her in the past month happen to you the first thing on your mind would be making sure you make your court appearance. Now i feel stupid for even given you the time of day and responding…
Perhaps is she was not associated with drug dealers nothing would have “unfolded” in front of her. Oh, and if she was not a theif, she would not have had a court date in the first place.

you know when a bench warrants go out it has to be a real good reason why a warrant is reversed usually cant be reversed until the person turns themselves in or taken in custody lawyer must have been involved . i think they are going to use lisa for drug contacts
Just thinking out loud here….. If I were Lisa, I wouldn’t want to be out in public or for anyone to know my whereabouts. A drug runner is dead and Lisa may know more than what anyone of us know.She put herself in a very dangerous situation that I’ll bet she never thought would turn into something like this. There are going to be those ( drug runners) that may want to keep her silent. I should think that maybe she is in protected custody. Perdomo is not and will not be the only person involved in this drug running ring.
She called the cops to report her dealer , Perdomo , hadnt shown up ??

The courts are certainly more lenient with the ole’ “I forgot routine” than my wife…..she’s about as forgiving as Judge Judy…..Crazy…..

She is “no longer wanted” because she will become state’s witness, much like Danny Boy’s girlfriend.

I really should have hired an attorney for that friggin DUI charge. I could have gotten off with driving for getting home.
Because she’s a potential witness she probably had no problem getting through to somebody in the DA’s office. They’re giving her a break because it’s not a felony theft charge. They’re probably more concerned about her getting her act cleaned up before the murder trial starts. They don’t want witnesses who “forget” to show up.
