BRIDGEWATER – Marjorie H. Porter, 89, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Aroostook Health Center, Mars Hill. She was born July 8, 1922, in Bridgewater, daughter of George and Edith (Terrell) Esty.

She was a graduate of Bridgewater Classical Academy and Nasson College, Springvale. She farmed with her husband for more than 40 years and was a lifelong member of Free Baptist Church, Bridgewater.

She is survived by a son, Steven and his wife, Cheryl; and a special granddaughter, Ashley, all of Bridgewater. She also leaves behind nieces, Lorraine Cleaves and her husband, Jimmy, Candace Blanco and her husband, Miguel, and Donna Nichols and her husband, Kevin; a special niece, Betty Simonson; nephew, Richard Porter and his wife, Polly; as well as other nieces and nephews, Robert, Linda, Diane, Annette and Vivian and their spouses. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Vincent Porter; and two sisters, Myrtle Kingsbury and Gretchen Gartel.

Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of funeral service 2 p.m. Monday at Free Baptist Church, Bridgewater, with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating.
