SEATTLE and PRESQUE ISLE – Elma M. Stites, 96, passed away Friday night, March 16, 2012, at The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle. She was born Nov. 6, 1915, in Minot, N.D., the daughter of Elmer and Laverne Sutherland.
She worked at Boeing Aircraft and then for United Airlines for 34 1/2 years. She moved to Presque Isle in 1981.
She is survived by a son, Edward Koch and his wife, Ida, of Presque Isle; three grandsons, Dennis, Edward Jr. and his partner, Lori McIntyre, and David Koch and his wife, Angel; a granddaughter, Debra Thibodeau and her husband, Ryan; great-grandchildren, Jessica Dahms, Jonathan, Joshua, Kolby, Darbie, Delancy and Tucker Koch; two great-great-grandchildren, Chase and Julie Levasseur; three nieces and two nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. David Goupille officiating. Friends may call noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Spring interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
