DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — The daughter of a woman who stands accused of furnishing marijuana and alcohol at the teen’s birthday party a year ago took the stand Wednesday in Piscataquis County Superior Court.
Tanya Donnelly, 37, of Brownville, is being tried on seven counts, including aggravated unlawful furnishing of a scheduled drug, unlawful furnishing of marijuana, furnishing liquor to a minor and endangering the welfare if a child.
Donnelly’s daughter, 14, testified that the group of six friends and she did not go to Donnelly’s house to smoke marijuana, as the other six testified Tuesday.
She said her mother cannot smoke at all. Donnelly’s attorney, Dale Thistle, said outside the courtroom that Donnelly suffers from pulmonary hypertension, is terminally ill and uses oxygen.
“She’d probably die from it,” she said, referring to the smoking of marijuana.
The daughter said her friends lied to police when they showed up at her mother’s house during the party on March 24, 2011.
“I was torn between believing my friends and believing the truth,” she said. “I didn’t want to ruin the friendship.”
The prosecution and defense rested their cases Tuesday afternoon, and closing arguments followed. The jury began its deliberations at about 3:30 p.m.
Went to Brownville once got pulled over four times by four different cops, when I got out to pick up some gum damn near got run over by a golf cart. Good place to stay out of.

April if memory serves my correctly think they called the place The Junction. Woke up next morning and read that some women got run over there that night by a golf cart, remember thinking gee that was almost me.

BROWNVILLE, Maine — A Canaan man doing spinouts on a golf cart at a musical outing in Brownville on Saturday injured a local woman and was charged with operating under the influence, police said Tuesday.
Michael Salisbury, 60, had driven his golf cart to a neighbor’s home on Spencer Farm Road, where a musical outing was being held on a deck, according to Brownville Police Chief Nick Clukey.
The man was NOT from Brownville – it was a resident from Canaan! You will not find 4 police officers on duty in a day between Milo and Brownville – we have 1 in Milo daily and 1 in Brownville daily! As Truemainiac states- “You lie like a dog worse then a rug” get your fact straight!
I know this woman, I have had my dealings with her myself, she uses her oxygen to her own benefit. She smokes dope, she drinks with them all, she feels that she can persuade anyone her way with her “disability”. I hope she gets the book thrown at her and she sits her butt in the cell and becomes someone’s bi*ch! I have no use for people like this. DHHS did take her kids away after a different incident, but returned them! The kids would be better off with someone else and having the opportunity to grow up knowing what is right and wrong!

??? By no means am I being defensive! But get your stories straight before you go posting something that is totally incorrect! I happen to know this woman personally and have dealt with issues of her harrassing kids to say different things to protect her – not worth it in my book! I am only defensive to the fact that these kids are being asked to be held liable for something she did – yes they drank the alcohol she provided, smoked the dope she provided -no arms twisted or broke, but a reputation of being the bad ones for reporting it?!? Seriously some people need to grow up and figure out what life is all about. It certainly is NOT alcohol or drugs. And until you learn the life these 13-14 year old girls, don’t judge them. Some live the life of only knowing/seeing their parents become alcoholics and drug abusers, the lives of others are the same. Welcome to the lives of 90% of the Milo/Brownville area, everyone wants to be the cool parent/child so they do what they see from others!
G Louise, talk about an overreaction. You can call me a liar you can say that I don’t know the facts. The facts are that I have no criminal record that I am God fearing person who understands the 10 Commandments and tries to do the best he can with them. The facts are that I got pulled over four times in three years by the Brownville Junction PD with no citations no warnings being issued. The facts are that one of the offices that pulled me over lied to the chief. The facts are that I wanted to live my life in peace after retirement. The facts are that two patrol officers came into my property blowing by no trespassing signs when they knew full well that I didn’t want anybody in there. The facts are that people in that town were stealing from me. So you can call the facts anyway you want, this does not change reality. The complaints to law enforcement were of the same as many other people have made in and around that town and they were unheeded and where not prosecuted both by the Chief and the DA who protect their friends. All right so maybe the four pullovers weren’t all in one day. This was said more out of comedy and not meant to be taken seriously, that is what comedy is and being a comic that is what I sometimes do if you don’t like it you don’t have to read it. But I will not now or anytime in the future retract what I’ve written on this subject of Brownville Junction which is nothing more than a den of inequity as far as I’m concerned full of bigoted nosey people that don’t have anything better to do then open their loud mouths and start trouble. Oh and for the golf cart incident I was referring to the town not to the driver and not to the store. Also for a matter of record have been at the store and have almost gotten run over by a golf cart there and if you find that hard to believe I bet you a lot of other people won’t. Oh I have lived in my present location have not been bothered by any my neighbors or by the local authorities I am the same person doing the same thing, how do you explain that oh great one?

If she is charged the kids should have been charged too with underage drinking the law is the law . If the kids were not charged why was she? I am not saying what she did was right

Most people lie . Kids have peer pressure and will lie like heck to get out of trouble. Maybe the mom made a mistake. That is not my point . If any kid lie on the stand would they be charged with perjury I think not. Were the kids charged with underage drinking? or drug tested if not prof is only heresay . I really Want to know the reason why the kids were not charged with underage drinking if they were not. Could the DA be making a deal? I will tell you right now most kids would lie to get out of trouble. It would highly influence my verdict if I was on the jury. (So you got a deal to testify ha credability out the window even If I felt more likely than not she was guilty I would have reasonable doubt.
Get over it I know the mother did not force the kids to smoke pot. She may have maid a mistake In the last post people were saying take her kids away . I know how munipulitive teenagers can be. No psyco bull on how thier frontal lobes are not developed please. I guess I would not make it on jury duty.

You know the mother is in the wrong if she supplied, but the kids should have some personal accountability in the matter as well, was someone holding a funnel in their mouths and pouring the stuff down their throats, or forcing them to smoke. I highly doubt it.
