CARIBOU – Carol Ann Thibodeau, 65, died March 22, 2012, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, Scarborough, after a four-year battle with cancer. She was born March 25, 1946, in Caribou, daughter of Lawrence and Ruth (Thibodeau) Hutchinson.

Carol was a graduate of Caribou High School, University of Maine at Presque Isle and Boston University College. Carol was a well-liked teacher at Caribou High School for several years. She was a member of Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Beta Sigma Phi and Maine Teacher’s Association. Carol was also elected National Education Association teacher of the year. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family, and was a very giving person to her family, grandchildren and anyone she came in contact with. She loved her flowers and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Richard “Pitt” Thibodeau of Caribou; three daughters, Robyn Thibodeau of Mashpee, Mass., Renee Kurtz and her husband, Guy, of Greenwood, Colo., and Cara Michaud of Portland; and grandchildren, Zoe and Andre Kurtz and Lexie Michaud.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian burial.
