MARS HILL – Claude “Bucky” W. Bell, 73, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012, at a Caribou hospital. He was born Jan. 21, 1939, in Westfield, the son of the late Clarence “Jack” and Pauline (Fitzherbert) Bell Sr.
Claude grew up in Robinson. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960, and afterward worked in the civil service as a firefighter at Loring Air Force Base, the postal service, and also owned and operated his own trucking business. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by a brother, Clarence Bell Jr. of Presque Isle; two sisters, Marilyn Cole and her husband, Morris, of Davenport, Fla., and Marion Langley of Easton; and his former wife and friend, Glenda Bell of Mars Hill. He also leaves behind nephews, Duane Cole, Brent Langley, Carlton and Calvin Bell; nieces, Charlotte Carr, Deborah Whittier and Paula Reardon; and other great-nephews, nieces and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother-in-law, William Langley; and a sister-in-law, Arlene Bell.
