LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Mr. Asa N. Green, 82, a native of Mars Hill, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center, Meridian, Miss.
He was a former president of the University of West Alabama. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include son, Steven R. Ross of Nashville, Tenn.; and grandchildren, John William Ross of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Kerri Michele Ross of Franklin, Tenn. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Green; and his parents, Clayton J. Green and Annie Shaw Green.
Funeral services for Mr. Green will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Livingston United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Hohn and Father Richard Losch officiating. Burial will be afterward at Myrtlewood Cemetery, Livingston, Ala. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, American Lung Association or Livingston United Methodist Church.
